Air Routes: Diverse airlines like American Airlines, Continental, COPA, Grupo Taca, Iberia, operate in the Managua Internacional Airport. There also exist national airlines like La Costeña y Atlantic Airlines, which carry out domestic flights.
Earth-bound routes: You can arrive by land from Tegucigalpa (Honduras) or San José (Costa Rica) covering a distance of approximately 9 hours. From San Salvador the journey is also 9 hours on bus. Please consult the list of companies of international transport of passengers to obtain updated information on fares and itineraries through their web pages or email.
If you would like to rent a car and travel to the other countries of the region, please consult a list of companies that rent cars and make the arrangements necessary. It is recommended to do this with several days of anticipation.
Traveling Documents: A passport with a minimum 6 month permission, which starts from the date which you entered the country. A visa is not demanded for visitors from the majority countries in the world, only a visitor’s card that costs USD $5.00, which can be obtained when entering Nicaragua at the airport. If you wish to prolong your stay in our country, beyond the time limit given on the tourist card, a solicitation must be made in the offices of Immigration in Managua.
